Good thread that Jay - I have just been looking on mma sites for gloves, shorts and knee guards and guess I'm gonna need a new groin guard a)as M is gonna try and get his own back and B)as the one I use for MT is not suitable - o an a rash guard or two as well - shit I need a better paid job.

All recomendations appreciate - both job and gear

What do you think of the mixedmartialarts site they have a good selection of sizes (and always in stock) but me thinks they might be a bit on the pricey side??
Hi Si, my brother and I have just taken a delivery of Evolution fight wear gear, including groin guards and shorts. We haven't got any knee guards as yet, but we do have an order coming from tap or nap in the u.s. as well which has some decently priced rashguards.

The address for the sight is www.westfightcompany.co.uk, you can get direct in touch with my brother who has the stock list and what is coming. Tell him I sent you and he'll sort something out for you. I haven't seen the most recent stock but I have a pair of my own camo evo shorts and really like them. I'll be trying some of the gloves and other items a.s.a.p. the gear literally only arrived monday but my bro is impressed with the quality. Tap or nap stuff should be with us later in the week.

Don't hesitate to get in touch with him if you need any help.

Just had a look at them, between £15-20 quid that is cheap as chips!

How does the quality of the Evolution ones compare to the Take a nap ones?

We're just waiting for the first lot of Take a Nap gear, so we'll let you know what it's like in comparison as soon as it turns up. Should be anyday now.

Just received a sample Take A Nap RashGuard. Really nice quality, and cheap as chips is right.

Also we are now stocking the Throwdown Demolition Gloves. Just received a delivery of them. Order up now cos they'll be flying out the door.

Nice to hear that you have bought a new pair of gloves. Good luck in your endeavors. Punching your opponent is a very common tactic in martial arts of almost any kind. A well placed punch is often good enough to put your opponent out for some time. So, what protects your hands from the force of the punch when you squarely hit an opponent's jaw? The answer is - gloves. Gloves play a very important role in contact sports of all kinds, more so in hardcore martial arts. Gloves protect your knuckles, fingers and wrists from the impact damage you might have incurred if you had punched someone with bare hands. In practice sessions or championships, these also protect your opponent from the impact of your punch. The gloves reduce actual damage dealt by the punches, making your opponent feel only the concussive force dished out by your knuckles. Thus when you were MMA gloves, you are more likely to knock out your opponent than to injure him/her much.
