Looks interesting...About how far is this from Bolton?

Please excuse my ignorance as I really don't know about the area around Bolton or even the UK in general. I hope to learn in time though

Hi, I presume your looking to come to live in Bolton?

The gym is in a small area known as Radcliffe, which is inbetween Bolton and Gtr Manchester, so its very easy to get to using public transport (the gym is right near the local tram network MetroLink).

The 524 bus from Bolton Bus Station will take you to Radcliffe, from which the gym is a 5min walk from there.

depends on what side of Bolton you would be in, as some parts of Bolton are right next to Radcliffe.

Yup, that's right. I hope to be moving there this coming September to attend Uni. I've been looking around for possible places to train. Found a few good looking gyms so far but just trying to get an idea of all my options

So it would be pretty easy to attend classes there if I'm in Bolton is pretty much what you're saying, am I correct?

Yes thats what i'm saying, quick access to Shootbox from Bolton.

but there are places in Bolton that do MMA, however i've never trained at these places so I can't recommend them.

One of the instructors (Craig) who teaches there is also from Bolton as are many students.

Well awesome then, I'll definitely check it out when I reach over to that side of the world.

I've only found two gyms so far in Bolton so far, one of them is Combat Base Bolton and the other is Fight Base. I've been in contact with the guy that runs Combat Base and he seems like a pretty good guy and sounds like he has some good experience under his belt. The only thing is that he does mostly Gi BJJ, nothing against it of course so don't get me wrong. I've never trained using a Gi just all No Gi, I have no problem learning with Gi jujitsu ( I actually look forward to it) it's just that I'd like to not neglect my No Gi as well and Shootbox MMA sounds like it has top notch submission wrestling so that's one thing that definitely has caught my attention So I'm thinking I could stretch my training out a bit at the two academies.

Thanks for answering my questions btw, much appreciated.

What are the day time sessions like in terms of numbers and are they suitable for a novice? I'm fortunate enough to get 10 weeks off for the summer and could do with training somewhere during the day so that the missus doesn't complain!

    Cheers

I responded to your PM Mikey with regards to the standard of tuition and the gym being suited for your level of ability.

Daytime classes are operational throughout the week but aren't as busy as the late-afternoon classes, but this may be more beneficial for yourself as the smaller class size may give more time for your coach to provide one-2-one support.
