    Mobile phone insurance scam...

Just wondering if anyone has ever scammed a new mobile through their insurance ? I'm insured through my bank but have not registered the phone so they do not know what type I have. I'm looking to scam a better model if possible. Has anyone ever done this ? Is their any way that they can find out which model I actually own (through Vodaphone etc.) Does anyone work for a phone insurance company ?

    Cheers.

My sister's ex (coincidently, a Liam himself) used to do that more often than the 'comfortable zone'. Lil fucker never got caught. Yet.

Thought doing somehting similar with my Tocco last summer, but then cancelled my insurance (what a rip off, never had a phone stolen or damaged, ever. Got my first phone in 1999) and got over it. I'm too much of a pussy, and I could live another 6 months with it (until I could upgrade the handset... pretty much right now)

done it a few times. but only when I've been strapped for cash, made a claim, sold the new one on ebay, got the phone unlocked if it was barred...happy days.

    Oh! the irony...!!
Phone lost/stolen tonight at Playstation's MAG 256-player event (check me out name-droppin, yo). Prolly stolen though. So pissed off.... I had GREAT shots in the phone.

(obviously I'm not as concerned about the text/calls lol)

if u have a blackberry bold and then accedently put in the sink and it still works, then take it appart and put it in the sink again and it breaks.then claim on ur insurance for some reason u get a blackberry bold 2 which is much better. not that i would ever stoop this low to replace a fone with a shit traker ball that freezes all the time for a much better more expensive one!

I havent done it, it depends how strict your bank insurance is, they might ask for proof of purchase, because you're not gonna be the first person to have though of scamming them

When a tv was stolen from my grandparents house a few years back, the home insurance company asked to see whatever we had left from the tv ( we showed the tv manual and remote) , and they asked my grandad to provide the proof of purchase , which he did

but there are a lot of smaller ones that wont ask, and the longer you go with an insurance company, the more they will trust you ,

have you thought about waiting for a few years, and then saying your vertu was stolen lol
