with carry over imho shit load of burpees (or bastards if you feel really brave) do em for time with a bit of rest inbetween (i.e HIIT stylee) you'll burn loads and if you can't sprawl after that lot you need shooting.

For something a bit less hardcore (although you can make it as hard as you want) interval skipping - don't need to spend alot for this option neither.

Surely it depends on what you mean by "exercise" and also "efficient."

First off, HIIT is almost always the best for cardio. Some old schoolers say long distance steady state (i.e. running etc.) is still the best way, but many modern theories say this is obsolete and very old mentality - I would do both to be honest, but I know you must must do hiit circuits if you want stamina and endurance in a fight.

With regards to an actual individual movement as opposed to entire style-exercise - I would go along the lines of swimming or grappling for really energy intensive cardio. Swimming is easy on the joints too.

Also efficiency technically means worst for our purposes (i.e. you don't want it to last ages and conserve energy) - but for this purpose it would probably slowly cycling. If you mean intensity - so time efficient - I would still say circuit/hiit training but generally jump rope will be the most intensive in a short space of time.

    Then get good at it!

It's an invaluable skill and you can seriously impress people with it when you're good - which shouldn't take long if you do it every day/every other day!

Fella I've been trying for ages and still can't get past the double bounce but think I've identified the cause of that, but good luck and hope you can jump rope better than me by now haha.
Feel the fear and do it anyway.
