    Full time

    Hi,

Just a quick question to all of you,

how many people on here work full time and train seriously? not just every now and again.

what sort of problems do you run into when trying to combine both?

    Hi mate,

I am very new to the whole MMA scene. I work full time shifts consisting of lates, earlies and nights. I attend at least one kickboxing (striking lesson) a week and a BJJ (MMA) lesson once a week. In between i squeeze weight training and running. Mind you I have had to pay off the wife and kids with exclusive gym membership!!
I would like to try and get another lesson in during the week but time is against me.
I would love to train every day but life won't allow it.

Ive always worked full time, and when training for thai fights, Id work 5days a week, and train 6 evenings. Now im working 6.30am-1pm, and training 2x2hour bjj lessons, and compound lifts down the gym once. Hoping to get the condioning up and getting more sessions in.

I work Mon - Fri 8am to 4pm. I train 5 days a week (in the gym) from around half 4 to 9pm latest dependant on what I'm training. If I'm doing weights then I'm there early and will hang around while another class is on rather than drive back and forth.

Weekends I try and get a distance run in - I like a run every now and again but try to vary the distance and put some intervals or hills in.

I train 6 days a week 3-4 hours most days. The only way I found to accomodate this level of training was to open my own MMA gym. That and the fact I would have gone crazy in an office lol!

I used to do a 40 hour week in an office and still train around 3 - 4 hours a day typically 5-6 days a week (I would either split up am and pm sessions or if training required a partner - then I'd just train from 5.30 till about 9pm....just take some pre workout drinks, protein shakes an bananas with me.

These days I am being lazy and typical train about an hour a day whilst working in the shop for Marc - think I work just under 43 hours a week these days...although I have backed off training re medical issue's which has killed a bit of the motivation.... I just stick to conditioning (strength & conditioning or limit strength) and Thai on a heavy bag

How do so many of you guys(and girl) dedicate so much time to training, I cant justify all the time to my misses. Used to do training 6 days a week, but the sessions were only 90min on average, so Id have plenty of time for her. But on the flipside I do really admire that your doing what you love.

I work in an office from around 7am untill around half 6pm 6 days a week and its a very stressfull job, i also work 2 nights a week in my other job. I also have a wife at home that needs some time, i struggle so much to get my ass to training after work, all i want to do is train and get well into this but i find my self lacked of energy and time, but i wasnt sure wether it was just laziness or if others struggled with this
