you see i dont like that. Thats not "sport" as i see it. Take the guy in the red shorts for example, no respect for when to stop. I love a good blood fest but that seems a bit unneccesary!
i have seen some Rio Heroes before and it wasnt that brutal, that vid doesnt really put it in a good light tho.

madness! One of my coaches is from Rio and he was saying how each time he goes back to his rio gym, that he is amazed at the submissions that the young kids from the 'favella's' aren't tapping on and getting really injured. He said that it is all about representing their area and people get to hear of who's fought who so it's a big deal! Mentalists!

Got to say that I'm not a fan of the footstomps, soccer kicks, knees and elbows to the back of the head type stuff but thats Vale Tudo for you in its purest sense - 'Anything is accepted'.

Clearly some good technical fighters amongst that lot but a couple of head-the-balls as well and any ref in a bigger promotion would have stopped most of those fights. The dick in the red shorts doesnt improve the image of the contest but then again I suppose that this is what that particular group of fans paid to watch.
