    Boring myself

    For the last six months or so I have become the most boring grappler around.I dont know why but for some reason I hardly ever attempt submissions anymore, I seem to be obsessed with controlling my opponents ie I gain a dominant position and then basically keep it at all costs. Sometimes I will spend 5 minutes in side control or mount but not really try to submit my sparring partner. I really dont like being this way because I think it is really boring for all parties involved but I just cant seem to lift my game :wtf

    Hmmmmmm....well you are aware of the issue - so that's a start.

    Maybe, you need to get over the obsession of not being tapped and throw caution to the wind....after all it's just rolling and it's practice so just go outside your comfort zone ans see what happens.

    take some acid before u train, ull fight much harder if u think ur wrestling a octopus trust me, just make sure u get a lift home so u dont end up walking in the local bingo hall and head kicking a 87 year old woman.....

    to the point with the up most respect seems to me you have lost the bite my friend! try some greko wrestling and a mix of judo this can bring back out the throwing fire, If you find you just lie there in side controll you need to get the eye of the tiger matey!
    doesnt seem to me you like it ,do you like grappling? If not train at it till its your best asset then you grow to love it as a tool.

    Since you love dominant positions, I presume you are good at getting into them.

    Just learn the submissions and drill them til you know them inside out and can do them fluidly.

    sitting in any position stagnant for 5 mins is basically not done.

    Hey if you can control your opponent for a prolonged time you can smash their faces in - forget about tapping them out

    agreed...but makes life more interesting for ya if you pull subs...always wise to be as dangerous as possible and have many skillz. :yes:
