    Heel Pain

So..last night i done my usual 4 mile run and everything was fine, No pains/aches or anything. This morning when i woke up the heel of my left foot was in absolute agony!!! I always thought i was pretty good with pain aswell . I'm in work and it's still really bad, Can only walk a few steps on it then i need to start walking using the front of my foot.

This is the first time i've experienced anything like this, Anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

    Cheers
    Scott

see an osteopath mate, it could be a few different things and a couple of them are quite serious (as you can tell if something goes badly wrong in that area it's really debilitating) so i would be looking to give it serious rest and ice it too, book an appointment and take their professional advice

It may sound farfetched, but you may have fractured it. There's a fuckload of small bones in your foot, and it's so easy to just get a hairline fracture in any of them (as I have so many times).

For the time being, though, get it rested and pack loads of ice on. LOADS of ice. And then get to A&E.

Dosent seem to be any better at all today Gave training a miss last night and think ill need to give Muay Thai a miss tonight . On the other hand, Going to phone the doctors and see if i can get an appointment for first thing tomorrow morning.

It can only be described as; When pressure is applyed to the heel, it's like a knife is slowly being pushed into it :/.

Does sound like a fracture mate. I'm no doctor though.

    Go to A&E mate. =)

Did you do RICE - Rest Ice Compression Elevate???

Could be anything from a bruised heel thru to fracture if you put some arnica (herbal cream or gel) that brings out bruising really quick that should give you a clue - also, how often and what trainers do you wear?? even a top/ expensive pair should be renewed every 6 months - if you run on an "average" basis...hope it just a bad bruised one - yes I can take real pain and a bruised heel is no joke!.
