Thread: Shoulder Surgery

Hey Everyone!
Iv been getting more into MMA over this past year and was going to start training at a local gym in Muay Thai and BJJ. Anyway i dislocated my shoulder for the 3rd time the day before i was going to start:sad: went to hospital had it put back in, then at my check up a week later they said i need surgery as its the third time that its happened and need to stabilize it.
So i was just wondering if any of you guys have had this surgery or similar? and if you was able to keep training after recovery and how long?

Sorry to hear about your situation buddy.

I have had a similar situation with my ankle were I had to have surgery to repair ligament damage and to improve the overall stability of the joint.

All I can say is that it hurt like a bitch for a week or two and I couldnt walk properly for a few weeks after that. I had a few weeks of physio but once I hit the 6th week point (when all of the swelling went down) there was a huge improvement in my ankle and it was well worth it.

With regards to when you will be back in training I would say its a case of a few months rather than weeks.
