Having done a fair bit of running in my time mate, I would start at the ground and work up. I would put money on you having the wrong trainers.
Trainers consist of neutral/cushioned, over pronators and under pronators. 3 types. Go to a decent running shop and get them to have a look at your gait (the way you walk/run) then they will fit a trainer to you. Most RUNNING shops do it now avoid the larger superstores unless they offer a fitting service.

Having flat feet (or "pes planus" or "fallen arches") does not automatically disqualify you from running. If you use your flat feet as an excuse why not to go for your marathon dream, it most likely is only your problem and not the problem of your flat feet. I myself have so flat feet that even the army of my country of origin refused to enroll me into the (otherwise mandatory) military service. However, I have completed multiple marathons (PB 3:31:02), and with a little bit of cautious care I am able to run as if having no problems with my flat feet at all. So here I would like to offer my best advice, based on my own experience, how to care for your flat feet and keep up with even very ambitious running plans.QUOTE=TroJon;68962]How to Run With Flat Feet | eHow.com[/QUOTE]

I was 15 and was having trials for Derby county i was failed on my medical because of this issue! kills me to this day, Just because you have Flat feet DOES NOT means you arnt retarded! I have that burning hate right now! God is a big kid with a magnifying glass!

Ive got bad flat feet, The Army gave me really good excersise but I damaged my foot really badly last year and it has put me back loads, arches are now as bad as ever.

I get a towel lay it flat on the floor why i sit on a chair infront of it, then scrunch the towel up all the way ten times with each foot, then I get a squash ball and pick it up woth my toes ten times, then I get a pen and write my name with my feet five times. Do this twice a day and you will see improvements pretty fast.

Look at brooks running shoes, I had addiction 8's which are for really bad flat feet but ive gone with brooks adrenaline GTS 10, now they seem better for me. Miles better than normal reebok classic or nike air max!!!

I wouldn't decide on a pair yet, as said get yourself to a good running shop, and they will check your gait in a number of different supporting trainers to see which is best. And I have never been pressured into buying the expensive ones, just told to get which ones felt the best.
