    Another Foot Post

Ok, so Sunday I did my first interclub (sub wrestle with 65kg guy, I lost by triangle but hey ho). I was ok after and got home, showered, ate etc then crashed on the sofa for an hour.

Got up and stood on my left foot which was bloody painful to say the least! Iced it and left it elevated.

Monday couldn't bear weight on it (was able to put weight on my heel and kinda limp that way) and the same Tuesday. Went to the A&E dept and got x-rays done. They couldn't see a fracture but have given me crutches and told me to keep the weight off of it.

Yesterday and today I've not been able to move my toes up without pain or bear weight on my heel. Have been a bit dumb and keep trying to walk on it to see if it still hurts (it does).

Any ideas as to if it's ligament-y or tendon-y or even a fracture?!?!

Could of been like my lefty, I has soft tissue damage, hurts like its broken but told to ice it and that I could train in a matter of days, but if I hit it, or someone rolls on it, its done for. Had to repeatedly ice it tho. Try going back and getting another x-ray, wouldnt be the first time theyve messed up, a female mate had been there, went back and had indeed fractured a rib.

I'm thinking I should go back as a mate told me she had a stress fracture that was missed and then snapped as she was walking!

Will see what Mr GP Doctor has to say Monday and go from there.

    Thanks everyone

Yeah I had the exact samething where I could only limp on my heel to move, that was put down to ligament damage b my doctor. Took an age to heal aswell :growl:.

Hopefully it's soft tissue injury as ligaments take quite a while to recover from. Didn't feel it during the fight then? Not an impact injury?

Strains and sprains are a common occurance and the foot is full of ligaments and what not. Is the pain on the top of the foot, the sole or the heel?

I would say not to worry too much because even minor ligament injuries hurt like hell but are rarely that serious, just painful and frustrating.

Can you remember what you were doing when you got the injury or how exactly it was caused?

This is the weird thing - didn't feel any pain til well after the fight. Have watched the video and can't see any impact etc...

If I have to stay off of it then they're gonna have to put a cast on me lol - I'm too dumb and impatient to let it heal properly. I keep walking on it to see if it hurts :baffled:

The pain is on the outside of my foot on the top, can't bear weight on it and can't limp on the heel either now.

I don't know how I did it which is probably the most annoying part!! I'm at a loss.

When the adrenalines flowing you would be amazed at how little you notice things like this. I tend not to notice until I cant get out of bed the day after!

If the pain is on the top and outside of the foot does that mean it runs down the top of your foot to your little toe? If that is the case it sounds like a fairly common ligament strain which will hurt like a sonofabitch but isnt anything to worry yourself about too much although they do sometimes require you to rest up a bit. I once suffered a strained ligament in my big toe from someone sticking a toe hold on me a little too hard and I couldnt walk properly for weeks.

Take it you dont have any swelling/bruising etc?

As for how you caused it, it could have been caused by any number of things, even something as simple as standing up.
