    Hi people...

I've studied Tai Kwon Doe in the past and really fancy a shot at this MMA. Could any one help me in getting started or do i need to master another martial art or two? I'm currently living in the Midlands (Derby to be exact) and would appreciate any help given.
    Thanks guys
    Dieter

Where abouts in Derby mate .. Im from there, usually there 2 weekends a month

Is Dieter your name ? how do you say that ?

No, you dont need another martial arts .. though Tae Kwando isnt a great martial art for MMA imo

However, personally if I was you, I'd go down to dragon kickboxing gym, located on Monk Street/ Abbey Street, its located above a tatto parlour and a proper mans gym .. its called something like full force

They also do MMA .. only place I know of that does MMA in Derby, it's a good place to start off , I dont think the coaches are at a great level .. I would probably learn all the basics from there, spend about a year or two there, then travel to a bigger gym in another city

If you go up that street towards Burton Road, you'll see a MuayThai gym thats good .. I'd actually spend a few months to a year at this gym to work on fitness, heard very good things about the gym, and muay thai can be a very good base for MMA

I also think there is a place that does Sumo wrestling !

Though there is a good BJJ place in Duffield , and I think they do Judo at Moorways

    Check them places out
