Thread: Hello all.

Been meaning to sign up here for ages and finally got round to it. I'm a friend of Mark and the guys at The Fitness Factory, well me and Levi are.

My background is boxing, kickboxing and various other stuff but mainly street defence having been a bouncer for 20 odd years. Had a go in the cage for a bit but serious knee injuries have stopped this now, well that and the fact i'm getting old

I also do a bit of part time Reality Based Self Defence instruction and have a love/hate relationship with bodybuilding and have done for most of my life although thankfully i have never succumbed to painting myself orange and making silly shapes in my y fronts on stage.....

How you handle yourself and react in a real life situation.
Usually technique goes out the window, you gotta be explosiveand decisive.

Funnily enough though the only time i've ever felt threatened is by bouncers/door men in London. I find they have a terrible attitude in London.
But i think a lot of it is caused by the management/promoters at the clubs, they almost expect and want their door staff to be intimidating.
It's always the little weasel with a clipboard and piece of paper! lol

I guess it don't help when you have a lot of piss heads rolling up trying to act tough as well though.

Welcome to the forum.. your waist/chest size is soooo different to each other it looks photoshopped

As for bouncers - i've always felt intimidated by the ones who like to intimidate, they'll intimidate their mother-in-law for the sake of it... but this isn't bouncers this is just people in general.
I feel more intimidated by bus drivers - now they have power trips.
