Hi
Hi all i'm new to the world of mma. I want to start learning some form of martial art mainly want to do it as a fun way of losing weight i'm 25 years old 6ft 6" and weight 25 stone and live near Bath. mostly around my area its tae kwon do or karate but if i travel into Bath theres a Gracie Barra there would i be better off doing BJJ?
any help would be appreciated

Welcome mate.
I think you should try the martial art thats most convenient to begin with e.g. the one thats easiest to get to. Try it out and see if you like it... you said you wanna have fun, so it should be fun! 
once you've tried a style and its not for you, you can always move on.
tae kwon do will be lots of kicking, good for flexibilty, not much contact unless your padded up (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
Karate all depends on the style. If it's a sport style, they'll be minimal contact. If its a knockdown style, it will be full contact. Theres alot more variation than that...like I said it depends on the style.
BJJ of course is all about grappling/ground work
Depends what else you wanna get from it, other than having fun and loosing weight... do you want to learn stand-up first or ground work?
