Bodyweight Training for MMA...
Hey guys,
I've decided to get started on an e-book full of my favourite body weight exercises. Im thinking of calling it the "Body Weight Bible", and really cramming loads into it, so it'd be the only bodyweight training resource you'll ever need.
I actually spent about 4 hours of today writing a draft version and I've got a lot of it in place already.
However, since this e-manual will be for you guys I'd really appreciate your input. What kinds of things would you like to see in there?
Basically what I've come up with so far is Bodyweight exercises for all areas of the body, circuits, warm up drills, agility / balance and co-ordination drills, a seperate chapter on partner exercises and I'm working on some sample beginner, intermediate and advanced routines (which Im having to perform myself first to ensure they're appropriate- the joy of being a coach!!)
If there are any other things to do with bodyeweight training you'd like me to include then reply to this post. All ideas and feedback welcome.

I'd say balance and agility are a good call, there have been a lot of posts where people have mentioned their footwork and general movement needs improving so anything that helps in that respect is good. I'd also say that anything that helps in generating more explosive power would be good as it's something all fighters need to work on.
Good call on doing the ebook fella, I've got so much stuff from Emamait's site that I'm overloaded with info, one guide may be the best way forward!
"Live strong"
"Speak true"
"Dream big"
“The hardest battle you're ever going to fight is the battle to be just you.â€

It would be good if you could come up with ways to exercise using household objects, such as doing press ups using elevation from chairs
Tell us what myths regarding bodyweight training should be ignored
And basically as many exercises that we can do at home .. have a little resistance band area too
-
beginners stuff would be helpful
Exercises to help with core strength and leg power (I'm always getting pinned!)
The hours of bridging and shrimping is driving my mad there must be other exercises that can compliment this?
-
SanshouMatt - Explosive power will be a huge priority of many of the exercises. Thanks for the feedback.
Jeevan - The premise of the ebook is going to be PURE bodyweight, as in you have NO equipment, not even pull up bars, or hills to do hill sprints. Its mainly for the trainee who has just a room and a floor, and thats why its going to be different from other bodyweight routines. You'll have NO excuses not to do the exercises. Its taken me a lot of creative thinking so far but im pleased with what Ive come up with.
I am going to include a section for additional exercises if you have Minimal equipment, and some recommended products (thanks for the inspiration for that one lol). I wont go overboard with band training though, because really its a different topic. The houshould objects idea is a good one, I'll definately look more into that.
Benny - the exericses will be divided into beginner / intermediate and advanced, so will the sample progrmas Im going to include. EVERY part of the body that needs to be trained will have its own section, so you will literally have an encyclopedia of exercises. Right now there's probably more than 200 exercises included.
Thanks guys, keep the feedback coming, these ideas are great!

Also, just randomlly, I sometimes do press ups using the door frame, they are really really good for forearm strength if you change your grip quite a lot whlst doing it

Also, do you have any other similar e-books available?
Many thanks.
