Good warm up and stretch before you start mate;

Couple of good stretches is lying on your back and bring your knee up to your chest and hold for about 20 seconds then slowly release, or sit on your bum with your feet toghether and slowly use your elbows to push your legs towards the ground.

Warm up with some skipping and maybe some mountain climbers? Always gets me raring to go.

We call this the Butterfly stretch. Put your feet together and draw your heels towards your groin, take it easy though and relax into the stretch. After pressing down for around 7 seconds release and gently move you knees up and down (flapping your knees like wings) or rock side to side while holding your feet close.

Another good hip stretch is to kneel down with your feet pointing outwards, spread your knees slightly. Lean forward on your elbows and walk around trying to get your head to touch your knee. Then walk round on your elbows to the other side.

A good warm up for your hips can be to hop up and bring your knee to your chest. I alternate this with knee up to chest and then touch down and skip up to knee outside the elbow.

Oh just one more, when skipping from foot to foot twist from the hips alternate pointing your feet out to the side.

Just had some physio on my hip, major bunched muscles and knots preventing me kicking, aces when my syllabus contains loads of dynamic kicks. I've also found swimming on my off days helps loosen my legs and hips up.

Hope this helps.
