    Koscheck

Welterweight Josh Koscheck still has his sights on welterweight gold, even though he will not be next in line for a title shot against current welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

After his second-round submission victory over Anthony Johnson last night, Koscheck called out Dan Hardy, who is fighting next for the title, saying that he is more deserving of the title shot than the U.K. fighter. Despite Koscheck's best efforts to change UFC President Dana White's mind, Hardy still remains the next in line for a shot at St. Pierre.

"We already announced the Hardy fight," White said in the post-fight press conference. "Hardy gets the next fight. But when I say Koscheck is in the mix, he's in the mix anyway. He's one of the best 170-pounders in the world and has been for a while."

Even with the accolades from White, Koscheck was not happy about the decision to keep Hardy as the number one contender.

"I know there's somebody here that thinks he's the No. 1 contender," Koscheck said in his post-fight interview. "He thinks he's the No. 1 contender, but he hasn't fought anybody."

Hardy recently defeated Koscheck's teammate Mike Swick at last weekend's UFC 105. While Hardy is currently 4-0 with the UFC - also defeating Marcus Davis, Rory Markham and Akihiro Gono - Koscheck was not pleased with the Mohawked fighter.

"He ain't fought nobody like me," Koscheck said. "Guaranteed, I'm the number one freaking contender in the division."

Later, Koscheck went on Twitter, writing to his fans: "How did you guys like that shit??? Voice your word to Dana I want GSP!!!"

However, eight hours later, Koscheck updated his Twitter page with the following post:

"Looks like hardy vs GSP is a done deal! Gay if u ask me but my goal now is to fight any 1 who steps up to fight!! Maybe 12 fights n 2010?"

    ================================================== ==========

Dude is acting up a lot .. talking about he should be number 1 contender

He said Dan Hardy hasnt fought anyone .. then said he hasnt fought anyone like him

Dude is a joke, he thinks he warrants a title shot more because he's had fights in the ufc for longer, though in fair, he was on fight nights for like 8 fights, and about 5 of them he wasnt even on the main cards .. where as Hardy was workinh his way through Europe

he's already lost to GSP a few years back, his only notable wins are over Lytle, Sanchez, Johnson ..

The fact is, he's already faced an average GSP before and lost ..

    He's 3-2 in his last 5

Even if he has a problem, Dan has done nothing wrong, Dana and Joe Silva made the fights and him number 1 contender

I dont like him, he's arrogant. The only reason Rumble didnt beat him was because of that illegal knee he accidentally threw. It knocked him off his game, I reckon, then Koscheck started poking him in the eyes.

Hardy's going to get his limey ass kicked. And good, too.
Kos vs. Hardy for a title shot - makes more sense. Not that both combined are as good as GSP but makes more sense than a GSP vs. Hardy fight. How did they come up with that?

I'm going to be talking about this for the weeks to come, get ready for the repeat mode on.

    -EDIT-
On a further noooooooote (you bet, I'm not done yet)
This fight-to-be reminded me back when I did BJJ (this one made me chuckle), the instructor always got me sparring with a purple belt because she was often the only girl in class besides me. So basically I never got to learn anything because I never had the slightest chance at pulling a successful move, and know if I was doing them right or not, because they never worked on someone with 3 years and 3 belts ahead of me.
Hardy will be fighting GSP because they're similar - on the scale. But just like gender was the only thing we chicas had in common, so is weightclass for these two.
I wonder who's the youngest title holder in the UFC.....

    Vitor Belfort isnt it ?

Anyway, I would say Dan's stand up is better than gsp's, but his stand up isnt exactly bad, his wrestling is awesome, and good level of bjj too

I dont think Hardy deserves a title shot, but hey, sometimes you hope a person steps up a few levels and can cause trouble for gsp, just like a new york midget once did

...as it stands, you might as well just call it a no contest and hand GSP the belt and save eveybody the trouble - but who would want that, right?

I honestly don't know why I'm so hostile at the likely possibility of a Hardy vs. GSP fight o:

GSP is superior to Hardy is every department; Hardy has got to just hope he gets a lucky punch or can last the 5 rounds.

Hardy v Kosheck would be a better fight, Kosheck has beat some tough and more notable opponents in the UFC and Hardy has a point to prove.

problem is GSP is too good at executing his game plan as he wants, im pretty sure aves is a harder hitter than hardy seing as the weight he cuts, and GSP takes almost no damage in fights (except for serras punch in their first match).
But this is a different person infront of GSP, and why shouldnt he get a shot, he climbed the ladder, called out the right ppl to get there, so Kos will have to wait, hes already had his chance at GSP and under estimated his wrestling ablilty, hes too cocky for his own good.

Im actually not much of a Dan hardy fan, yes he has beat a lot of good guys in and outside of the ufc, i like the way he has gone about getting his UFC contract going over to japan and earning his name etc....but there is still something that irritates me about him, i really cant see in what department he can beat GSP if gsp gets him on the floor (which he will) it will be game over

Hardy does annoy me quite a bit, but nowhere near as much as Kos. I find it funny that Kos is calling for a title shot, does he not remember Paulo Thiago?

Kos got KO'd by a nobody! His boy Fitch then dominated the nobody for 3 rounds. So, if anybody from AKA deserves a title shot, it is Fitch!

GSP has beaten all the other contenders at least once. He'll probably destroy every 170 lb fighter on the planet. So, all of this Hardy isn't ready stuff, is a moot point.

    Anyway, WAR Diet Nog!
