Thread: Belfort vs Silva

I hear this booked in for a UFC card in Abu Dhabi or Dubai (something like that).
I absolutely cannot wait to see this fight.
If it plays out as it lines up on paper than this could really be one to remember.

i just don't think at that weight he will be able to match him in striking, and with his ridiculous balance and BJJ.
I think the only way he can be beaten really is if he doesn't get his mind or physical condition right.
I can still see the cut he gave sanchez, that was nasty!

But really can't wait for that card.

BJ's stand up reached a whole new level of scary for me after the sanchez fight... I mean I know it was always top notch, I just didn't appreciate it as much, until that fight!

how do you go about getting tickets for this then anyone know??? im going thailand in april and have stopped over many times in Abu Dhabi so am seriously thinking of a weekend stop over and catching the event ..... would be an awesome start to a holiday..... no point in even considering it if i cant get tickets though ....

Well apparently i've heard Freddie Roach say that in mma pound for pound bj penn is the best striker!
The thing is you kinda forget sometimes becuase of his supernatural balance and takedown defence.
But the guy can ground and pound, he's a black belt in BJJ and standing up can bang with the best!
If his body is in shape and he's up for it, i can't see anyone beating him.

And the sanchez fight he just dominated from beginning to end, he really could have eneded the fight in the first few minutes of the first round if he really wanted, but i think he was definately out to prove a point which he really really did emphatically!
That gash he left sanchez with is beyond ridiculous, imagine looking at your face and seeing that forever and just seeing the mans face that did it to you.

if i could get tickets to it i would blow my load!!

How does everyone see the Silva Belfort fight playing out - I think Silva might edge it, will be a stale mate for the first 2 rounds I think though, Silva has the better techinque, but belfort is so fast!

Mentaly I think Silva is a lot stronger too
