looks like strikeforce are looking at the quality of the fights rather than the big draws!

Its good for the sport - Still, Daley is a world class welterweight, the UFC were right to cut him but if strikeforce dont snap him up then........ well not much really maybe back to japan?

Isn't this street fight vs MMA "whowouldwin" discussion a little redundant though?
Anyone training MMA not only does so in a (fairly) regular basis, as they do it with years of conditioning study and knowledge, many (those who can afford it) with medical support, coaches and decades (or centuries, depending on many specific martial arts) of trial and error.
Seems to me it is a long shot on which side is advantage on.

agreed. and i think that kimbo was in the UFC just because he was able to draw attention (and profits ) - if there is any other street (or other) fighter with such power, and with little fighting skills, the door to the UFC will open...

I think strikeforce are trying to prove themselves . and will only take good fighters the ufc release .. kimbo, improved against alexander thanks to att, but looked awful in his last fight .. i think he will be fighting around the country for smaller cards, wouldnt be shocked to see him come to ultimate challenge or bamma

semtex is fighting in australia, if he doesnt go into pro boxing, i expect him to be in strikeforce in a years tme ..

I agree. But I wonder how long Strikeforce can stay in business picking over the leftovers of UFC.

They do have an exclusive on Female MMA fights, but that's probably not a big enough draw. And once Fedor retires...
