In my opinion just proves that MMA isn't just street fighting. Kimbo was king of street fighting but didn't have any of the real skills required in MMA.
MMA is an art!

I wouldn't take a slice out of that kuimbo. He could give me the whole cake I'd tell him to bugger off too.
(I didn't watch the fight yet. Was it really bad? I'll only watch it if there's something that tickles me enough to watch it... like someone looking reeeeally bad)
It's not enough to succeed, others must fail - Gore Vidal

Kimbo has been a great contribution to UFC and public awareness for the sport of MMA.
The majority of people would scream this guys name, chanting: kimbo kimbo kimbo! through their computer screens onto the youtube video comments.
This guy was the toughest fighter on the planet, untill MMA came along.
Even two seconds before his first fight, people were still adament that Kimbo was the hardest guy in the world and nobody could defeat him.
MMA defeated Kimbo. goodbye Kimbo - thanks for showing the world how skilled and dedicated these athletes in the sport of MMA really are.
Street thugs before - MMA ain't nuttin ta fuck wit

Wouldnt go as far as that, plenty of guys started off in street fights.
I can only assume many of the legends we know today had a fair few street fights before finding out you could do it in a ring and get paid for it, oh, and not get into any trouble with the law (no tank abbot lol).
Rampage was a street fighter.
-
Didn't mean it like that, they were street fighters, not now... Rampage (mma) would destroy Rampage (street dude) in a one on one fight (averagely)
-
Well I just have to say that he has impressed me. He really tried to make that transition between street brawler to mixed martial artist. He certainly has come a long way. Imo, if he started really training MMA and got into a good camp like ATT then he may have been a whole different fighter. You just have to admire his determination though.

He trained with bas rutten for about a year
-
An Bas had some choice words to say about him. He wasn't impressed.
"Dont stamp on me foot again. Ive got an ingrowing toe nail" ME

He is still a big draw I think it proves Dana wants to put on good fights and not just sell on a name
Kimbo will be snapped up by strikeforce! - Along with Daley
