Thread: I just want to see Brock and Fedor fight!

I'm chilling with my baby boy, who is 12 weeks old today, and doing some stuff on my blog - MMA And Me!

I just want to see Brock and Fedor fight and I would feel pretty cheated if this fight did not happen.

This is MMA's Ali Vs Foreman.

The build up would be magic and I'm pretty sure it would set PPV records for MMA.

Question - Will this fight happen?

Ive got a much more cynical attitude and I think that after so much stalling, arguing and squabbling that this fight, should it ever happen, cannot possibly live up to its billing and will inevitably be something of a let down.

I'm not a big fan of either fighter and I dont buy into the attitude that Fedor is the worlds number 1 heavyweight because to be that you have to be fighting the best fighters in the world, which he isnt and hasnt for quite some time.

I could see Fedot meeting with only fair to middling success in the UFC much in the way other 'legendary' fighters like Nog and Cro Crop did when they made the transition.

Fedor's recent record of annually beating (now losing) a fighter who was not or no longer a contender in the heavyweight division of UFC doesn't inspire me. Add to this the fact that he is a very small heavyweight, about 235lbs and carrying a lot of fat he would surely get manhandled by Brock, Carwin, Mir etc.

If Fedor wanted to put the training in and transfer to the ufc as a 205lbs guy, then I believe this could make for some good match ups, the chances of this happening however are almost zero I feel.

As for Brock, he did what he had to do to win and all power to him, however I believe it was only due to Carwin getting carried away and blowing himself out that gave him this. Carwin has striking that is on a different planet to Brock and he should really have won this easy. I believe unless Brock makes significant improvements then he will again get beaten badly in the re-match, but with a very different outcome to the result.
