Shoe zone, same trainers for running and lifting. My feet are fine. Can't afford anything else at the moment.

    Saucony

I got a new pair a few weeks ago, I couldn't afford to go top of the range but found a pair I'm happy with:

Amongst hardcore runners Saucony seem to be rated quite highly, at the link above they are going at £29.99 with an rrp of £59.99. They are very light and quite easy on the legs when running on hard ground for the money I paid I'm quite happy.

There is no perfect running shoe. Everyone's feet are unique and different. The best thing to do is to go to a shoe store and try on different models. It would be best if you could jump on a treadmill or be able to test the shoes out to make sure they are perfect. You want comfortable shoes that support your feet, including your arches perfectly. Improperly fitting running shoes can create blisters, damage your arches and increase foot fatigue and pains.

What process did you go through to suit your trainer fit and what shop did you buy it from?

Went to a shop called up and running mate. They asked my size, tried a couple on to confirm my sizing was right, then I went on a running machine while they filmed it with a run of the mill trainer with no raised gait. She then explained my gait/ pronation, shown me the video explaining that I had very slight over pronation and that I could go for a regular sole or something with a slight raise on the instep, she made me run again with 2 different raises, explained which one seemed best and got a selection of brands (asics/brooks/new balance) that they had in my size in stock that fitted the bill, narrowed it down to 2 pairs i liked an she just let me run as an when with each pair on, ended up running with one asic and one brook' on trying to decide lol, they even said if I kept to treadmill running I had 2 weeks to change my mind for another trainer!!! Went for the Brooks infinity 2 in the end. Could have picked them up for 10/15 cheaper online but got one hell of a service in the shop, really made up, booked in for a 10k end of the month and got my name in the ballot for next years marathon

Nice dude, thanks for posting all of that up (although you could use the press the enter key once in a while lol).

Just goes to show, a little investment gets a lot of quality and saves a lot of grief.

Reduces chances of injuries and reduces physio/chiro bills.

Im set for another pair of trainers too.
