    Kettlebell training

I acquired a 7.5kg kettlebell not long ago as a present from a family member (I know it's not heavy but have really found it fun to train with) and after looking through various videos and tutorials I think I've managed to grasp the basics like the swing, the clean and snatch.

Does anyone know of some kettlebell based fitness books/dvds to follow with?

Yeah I've only just discovered how fun they are but how much they can kill you when used in timed rounds

Looking to get a pair of 16 kgs when I head back to uni and by that time technique should be even better by then so can't wait

Yeh you need at least 16kg to make it worthwhile, that's why there is a lot of momentum and explosive movements in kettlebell training!

You can search out/download instructionals by Pavel Tsattouline (sp?)- he teaches swat/navy seals bla bla bla but more importantly- Spetsnaz (Russian elite special forces) which let's be real honest, are basically among the most hardcore in the world.

get at least 1 x 16kg and buy any of this guys DVD's - by far the best imho - check out othe trailers - bodyweight and kettlebell workouts - you chhose your own music they are all scalelable - so it gets harder as you get fitter and his later DVD's you get to choose beginner, Moderate or advance - which basically gives you less time and his instructionals at the beginning re form and common sense are spot on, and some DVD's have several workouts on (I dig his Tee's as well):-

    Try this link:

    OLF Education

you should get a .zip archive that contains several training programs in pdf. As said above you will need at least 2 heavier KBs (16kg is good to start but you'll be looking to move on quite quickly). In that zip you get different workouts for conditioning, strength & power, endurance etc. KBs are worth spending a few £s the results you get are amazing!!!!!

Cool, cheers guys for all the info, will be getting heavier ones soon but I've just finished uni for the summer and without a job student loan needs to stretch over a few months but will definately be investing in some soon.
