can you not do sumo squats? - that's what I have to do , I have found the extra wide stance helps with balance as well...so can lift heavier weights, you may find that front squats may add to the stiffness problems you already have if it's some thing you have rather than being caused by squat form etc - still you can only try and see what happens - so I take it you can't be heel hooked?.

i can twist em along way yea lol but as soon as some one gets anywhere near a heel hook i squirm and tap!! ill have ago at sumos squats tonight,ive done dead lifts wide before but not squats, i need to get to the route of the problem tho bcus its gettn to the point i can almost bench what i can squat!!
